The Scholasticum

EnglishPoster

I was pleased to hear about The Scholasticum, a Post-Graduate Institute for the study of Scholastic Theology and Philosophy. There can never be enough docile study of the scholastics. As long as by ‘the scholastics’ we mean what Scholasticum means: St Thomas and St Bonaventure— not Scotus and Ockham or Suarez and Molina.

  2. – or even Molina, for that matter?

Ockham, I understand; but even Ockham should be studied: He was obviously an important figure, and one who, apparently, argued strongly and clearly.

  3. But of course, it was docile study that was meant…If the qualification be why what was said was said, then I admit the point.

      1. Personally I found this hilarious precisely because it was difficult to tell if you were being flippant or serious. FWIW, I guessed flippant. 🙂
