Translation of Przywara’s Hymn to Christ the King

Over at The Josias I have translated a hymn to Christ the King by Fr. Erich Przywara, S.J. I tried to preserve enough of the original metre that the English can be sung to Fr. Josef Kreitmaier, S.J.’s stirring melody. I also wrote an introduction explaining the use that was made of that hymn by Catholic Youth in dark times.

  1. Do you know that another hymn by Przywara, dear Father, “Großer König aller Völker”? I even prefer it to the “Oh Du mein Heiland”:

    1. I can’t remember ever having sung that one.

      1. Its in the Augsburg Gotteslob appendix, old and new (I believe), but I don’t think it is much widespread elsewhere.
